It’s about that time to step up your Disney vault collection! In 2023, as part of the year-long Disney100 event celebrating 100 years, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will be releasing a series of Platinum Steelbook versions of movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm.

They will be available exclusively at BestBuy and Walmart, but you’ll be able to collect the special Steelbook editions of Encanto, Moana, Coco, Brave, or Zootopia

Or go back even further for titles like Frozen I and II, Wrick-It-Ralph, Toy Story, Up, and Monsters Inc.

And in case you (still) don’t have them, they’re also releasing 4k versions of some of the original classics too, like The Lion King, Aladdin, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Aristocats, and Cinderella (first time in 4k for Cinderella).

Here’s a link from Animation Magazine with the release dates, but tell us which animated movies you’re hoping will be added to the list?

I didn’t know about this vault collection. To be honest, I hope they create more that just the DVD in a new design box

      Greetings,
I know what you mean. Disney is notorious for repackaging their catalogue of movies every few years. People use-to build movie collections at home and some probably still do. I tend to buy 4K Blurays, but only if they have good/new BTS (behind-the-scenes) or MO (making of) content included. As a filmmaker that type of content is relevant and usually much harder to find anywhere else.
